Radiohead’s Thom Yorke Blasts Miley Cyrus

Thom Yorke calls Miley Cyrus immature for recent diss during a radio interview

As a rule, Thom Yorke of Radiohead is not the type of guy to engage in public feuds, but the recent comments of teen star Miley Cyrus must have struck a chord with him. Speaking directly with Us Weekly, the singer issued a statement regarding Miley’s public threat of “ruining” Radiohead: the young Disney star needs to grow up and learn that some things just don’t happen because she so desires.

“When Miley grows up, she’ll learn not to have such a sense of entitlement.” Yorke said in the statement released to Us Weekly, in direct response to the Disney star’s diss. This, it has been stressed, was one of the most delicate and to-the-point ways of showing 16-year-old Miley that there was such a thing as professional courtesy and learning that some things were best kept out of the media.

The minor feud broke at the beginning of the month, when Cyrus told during a radio interview that the Radiohead guys had broken her heart by refusing to hang out with her backstage at this year’s Grammy Awards. The “insult” was even greater as Miley had reportedly already boasted to her friends that she would personally introduce them to Radiohead, which was “the reason I love music,” as Miley herself put it. When Radiohead’s publicist told her publicist that “The band doesn’t really do that,” Miley said, she was heartbroken.

Upset as she was, the singer, actress and songwriter left the building, but not before vouching she would “ruin” Radiohead, although failing to mention how she planned to do so. “The reason I’m in this business is to make people happy.” Miley also shared in the interview, somehow implying that Radiohead were not. “I left ‘cause I was so upset. I wasn’t going to watch. I’d already texted all my friends, we were all freaking out. Stinkin’ Radiohead! I’m gonna ruin them, I’m going to tell everyone.” Cyrus continued by pinpointing, threatening to reveal the “real character” of the Radiohead guys to the world.

In all fairness, this is not the first time that someone blasts Miley for occasionally acting like a spoiled brat who thinks she should be served everything on a silver platter, several media outlets are pointing out. It is, though, the first time that someone as famous as Thom Yorke actually has the guts to call her so to her face – more or less.

So I take it this means she will no longer be buying their albums? What a retard!

Unfortunately, many of today's teens who come from upper middle class and weathier familes have this sense of entitlement. As a high school teacher I see it daily. Kudos to Yorke for his well phrased chastisment of the teen singer.

Miley Cyrus's head is way bigger that it should be. Disney has her thinking that she is a super duper star and she needs to remember her audience is 5-10 year olds. She needs to learn how to talk to grown people and show some respect. She needs to sit down somewhere and be quiet

As an ardent fan of Radiohead's music for ten years, I can say their response was predictable. Miley seems to embody many elements of the music industry that Radiohead have always had a dislike for, however they were at the Grammy's knowing full well what the awards show has become. If they decided to attend then perhaps they should have made the minor compromise and just met her briefly. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Apparently, Radiohead had their cake and ate it too. Cyrus whined, looked like an imbecile throwing a tantrum doing so, and Radio lost nothing from it.
In fact they came out on top.

Go Miley! I would be absolutely flattered that you would want to visit with me, or my band is what I say. Find a free agent with a "heart of gold" like Neil Young ha, ha. So much for Creep. By the way, I just can not find satisfactory collectibles with you(Miley) on it.

If I may: Wahhhhh! WAHHHHHH!!! A-WAHHH!!! ...sniffle... A-WAHHHH!!!

Seriously, I can't wait for the day you're fat, divorced, and psychotic, Miley.

Radiohead are music legends, if not gods. And to think a Disney kid star has the right to gaze upon true talent, well, is ludicrous.

This is complete truth! Radiohead does it for the music! (unlike that C*** Miley Cyrus)
