Steve Jobs had a lot of products to tout at the latest Apple conference, and podcasting was just one of them.

And podcasting is so popular, that Jobs felt entitled to say that this one of the most interesting things that has happened in radio over the last time.

Currently, the number of those who broadcast their audio creations, which are available to any user that is in the mood for some amateur material, has reached 8,000, and the number is increasing.

The topics discussed and the length of the podcasts are entirely at the author's discretion. There is already a wide variety of topics: from wine tasters' opinions to the latest news in sports or political debates.

One of the main differences between an amateur show and the ones from a professional radio is that podcasts don't have a time limit, they can be listened to anytime and most importantly, there is no censorship.

The 4.9 version of iTunes, presented by Jobs at the conference, will include new podcasting functions, such as automatic subscription to a podcasting source, iPod transfer etc.
