Vertex3D is not exactly a well-known graphics card manufacturer, but that hasn't stopped it from joining the AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series launch frenzy with its own two add-in cards, both of which, however, are pretty much as close to the reference design as possible.
Before moving to the actual features the new cards from
Vertex have in store, it's interesting to take a look at the company's profile.
So, Vertex 3D's parent is TUL Corporation, which, incidentally, is the driving force behind PowerColor, another famous AMD graphics card partner, and it's not quite clear exactly why TUL decided to set up back in 2009 a second outlet for its graphics cards (we suspect that a boost in sales numbers is probably the main goal).
Also, we can't help but notice that the brand's design elements are quite close to some familiar ones, such as those pertaining to ATI IP (the "Ruby" character, in particular).
Anyway, back to the cards, we're talking about the standard HD 6970 and HD 6950, the HD 6970 clocking at 880MHz core speed and 1375MHz memory speed, accelerating the PC with up to 2.7 teraFLOPs of computing power, while the HD 6950 clocks at 800MHz core speed and 1250MHz memory speed.
Plus, similar to some of the other AMD Radeon HD cards released today, the new graphics cards offer plenty of video outputs, including DL-DVI-I/SL-DVI-D/HDMI/2x mini DisplayPort.
Obviously, the latest
VTX3D HD6900 series supports AMD Eyefinity Technology, enabling expandable view across up to 4 displays to deliver the lifelike gaming experience and enhance the productivity.
Also, with the support of DirectX 11 technology, the HD6900 series allows realistic effects and fast frame rates for the ultimate HD gaming experience.
Sadly, pricing for the Vertex 3D Radeon HD 6900 Series products has not been provided, but taking into account their high level of similitude to the reference board, we suspect that they'll follow AMD's MSRP guidelines for its latest Cayman-based cards.
