After the release of its latest Radeon HD 5570 graphics card, Sunnyvale, California-based Advanced Micro Devices has managed to fill the gap in almost every price segment, with a new card that supports Microsoft's DirectX 11 API. However, the chip maker appears to have one more card in the pipeline, according to reports on the Internet, one which will fill the gap in the US$200 price range. The card surfaced in Internet reports before, wearing the HD 5830 branding.

As you can expect, the Radeon HD 5830 will deliver the performance that will place it between 5850 and the 5770, as it's based on the Cypress LE core. The card will reportedly sport 1280 shaders, 60 texture units and a core speed of 750MHz for the GPU. Featured with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, clocked at 1000MHz, the difference between the 5830 and the 5850 shouldn't be that significant, in terms of performance. When you put the two side by side, the 5850 is featured with 1440 shaders and 72 texture units, while the GPU is set at 725MHz.

The card will obviously provide support for the company's ATI Eyefinity technology, enabling users to pair three monitors on a single card to deliver an impressive visual experience. The connectivity options will include the regular DVI, HDMI but also DisplayPort, necessary for Eyefinity setups. It's highly likely that the PCB and cooler to be the same as on the HD 5850 model, considering the small differences between the two cards.

As for pricing, the upcoming Radeon will reportedly become available for something around €200, or lower than that, as current Radeon HD 5850 cards sell for about €250. An early listing of the card, according to Fudzilla, indicates that the GPU will be available for €215, but that will certainly change once the card gets its official debut. That could be around March, with the cards expected to ship later this month.
