Given the high number of
leaked photos that have recently surfaced on the Internet, revealing new HD4830-based graphics cards from various makers, we can only assume that AMD is bound to release a new Radeon card sometime this week. As a matter of fact, some leaked details even suggest that we should be expecting said launch to take place on October 23, which is just two days from now.
One of the most recent cards we have stumbled upon in our daily Internet browsing comes from PowerColor, one of AMD’s largest graphics card partners. The card itself appears ready for launch, a fact that can only further emphasize the rumored release date. However, we still have to wait for AMD to officially introduce the new card before we can hope to find out any details regarding pricing and availability. However, before that happens, we can still take a look at the specifications list, which has also made its way on the Internet, along with the photos.

The new HD 4800-series is built using the 55nm RV770 chip featured in AMD’s HD 4850 and HD 4870 graphics cards. The HD 4830 from PowerColor appears to come with a basic design based on the reference model, which means you can expect it to deliver a core speed of 575MHz, and 1800MHz for the memory. It will pack 512MB of GDDR3 memory and will feature 640 Stream processors, which means it will provide a rather decent amount of graphics performance in a small form factor.
The card is equipped with a reasonably small cooling system and, as you might expect, it will come to support Microsoft’s DirectX 10.1, ATI’s CrossFireX and UVD 2.0 technologies, just like most of the recently released AMD graphics cards. The PowerColor HD 4830 has D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectivity and, at launch, it will probably prove to be the ideal choice for gamers on a budget.
