British actress Rachel Weisz has split from her partner of 9 years, director Darren Aronofsky. Though unconfirmed, it is believed her co-star Daniel Craig may have had something to do with the decision to call it quits.

TMZ has confirmed reports that the two are no longer together via Weisz’s rep. The two were never married, but the rep insists they remain on good terms for the sake of their son.

“Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have been separated for some months. They remain close friends and are committed to raising their son together in NYC,” the publicist says.

Sources are telling the US media that the two are now meeting with attorneys to come up with an arrangement that best suits them at this point in their life.

Both of them want joint custody of the child, Henry Chance, aged 4, TMZ notes, which means they won’t be having a hard time coming up with said arrangement.

However, there may be more to this, the aforementioned publication reports, since it could be that the decision to go their separate ways was prompted by a new man in Rachel’s life.

“Sources tell TMZ Rachel has been linked to ‘James Bond’ star Daniel Craig for months. They worked together on the upcoming flick, ‘Dream House,’ in February and March of 2010,” TMZ informs.

Insiders claim to tabloids that Weisz is “head over heels” with Craig and he may actually feel the same for her. Nevertheless, he’s engaged to producer Satsuki Mitchell.

As of now, neither Aronofsky and Weisz not Daniel Graig have commented on the ongoing rumors about an affair that broke the A-list couple up.

Aronofsky’s credits include the critically acclaimed “The Wrestler,” “Requiem for a Dream” and “Pi.” He also directed “The Fountain,” starring Rachel Weisz, and is attached to helm the upcoming remake of “Superman.”
