Rachel McAdams Split: Actress Ends Relationship with Michael Sheen

Rachel McAdams and Martin Sheen have split up, reports say, ending a relationship of more than two years.

“The Vow” actress met Sheen on the set of “Midnight in Paris,” directed by Woody Allen, in 2010, Los Angeles Times writes.

She told reporters at the time that she was not romantically involved with Sheen while she was filming the movie, because she is against hooking up with co-stars on the set.

“I feel strongly about not doing [that] when I'm working,” she said in 2012.

The pair officially announced their relationship in October 2010. The actress recalled that they were good friends before being an item.

“We became quite good friends, which I think is a great way to start. I felt very blessed to have made a Woody Allen film in Paris together,” she said.

The couple have given no reason as to why they are splitting up. In previous interviews, they mentioned making efforts to keep up their long-distance relationship.

New York Post notes that McAdams lives in Toronto, Canada, while Sheen works out of Wales and Los Angeles, California.

“Michael and I never spend more than three weeks apart — we rack up a lot of air miles — but you have to be quite adaptable in this business whether you are in a relationship or not. Trying to establish roots somewhere is a bit of a joke,” Rachel described.

McAdams has been linked to “The Notebook” co-star Ryan Gosling before. The pair dated in 2005 and were also briefly engaged. They announced their break-up two years after, in 2007.

Sheen lists British actress Kate Beckinsale as an ex. They reportedly dated for eight years, from 1995 until 2003. They also have a daughter together, now 14-year-old Lily.
