Each of us has dead times, when you are stuck in traffic, or in line at the supermarket, or waiting your turn at the dentist. We can fill this time by simply connecting to the informational reality, by scanning the latest news fluxes, by analyzing certain issues or by connecting to the RSS content.

Thanks to FreeNews, this is now possible, this mobile news provider already stirring sensation in the areas where it was launched. The solution is based on Java code and runs directly on the
phone's display.

According to FreeNews's specifications, the majority of phones produced by famous companies (Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, etc), but also wireless devices like PalmOne Treo, BlackBerry and models compatible with Windows Mobile can be set to support FreeNews.

The only requirement of the service is that your phone has to have Java support and to include an Internet connection solution. Subscribing to this service is easy and only takes a few minutes. The next step is downloading the Java applet and setting the first types of RSS services available for the phone. The news flux is redirected through an ordinary site and can be administered using the phone or the FreeNews interface.

The main qualities of the application are:

* adding of every RSS or Atom flux (RSS 0.9, 0.91., 0.92, 1.0 si 2.0)
* importing fluxes from the exiting ones through OPML
* exporting fluxes through OPML
* scanning news fluxes from data base of 50,000 feeds after certain key words, etc.

After subscription, the account has to be activated by accessing an address included in the confirmation email. FreeNews is automatically installed after the link http://mwap.at is accessed. The application only requires 57 kb.
