14 DAY TRIAL // One of the most popular navigation applications, ROUTE 66 is now available as a free download from Android Market.
The developer offers users a free 30-day Worldwide Trial license comprising Navigation and free access to premium services, including Traffic information and Speed cameras. However, the promotional offer is only available until December 31.
Those who wish to pay for the lifetime Worldwide Navigation license, which provides turn-by-turn navigation in over 80 countries, must shell out US$64.99 (49.99 EUR). The license can be obtained via in-app purchase.
Furthermore, the developers announced that ROUTE 66 Maps + Navigation will be delivered with a unique ‘Follow Me’ augmented reality navigation feature.
With Follow Me augmented reality navigation users will be provided with images of the real road ahead. In addition, the innovative feature adds a realistic virtual car driving in front of the users, which acts like a guide to their destination.
ROUTE 66 Maps + Navigation also offers free lifetime access to 104 different maps that are especially designed to be displayed in 3D graphics. Links to Wikipedia and weather are provided for free as well.
The application automatically updates with the latest maps provided via developer’s servers, even while on the move.
In addition, the maps can also be stored on the smartphone using a Wi-Fi connection, for later use, thus avoiding data roaming charges while abroad.
ROUTE 66 Maps + Navigation is now available as free download via Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
