He isn't alive but some people want you to think he is

Scammers still profit from the death of Apple's number one man and if before all they did was earn from surveys, now they take things to another level by sending links to pages that are filled with malware.

As we saw with all the great celebrities such as Michael Jackson or 2Pac, it's now Steve Jobs' turn to be alive after he was declared dead.

Emails with the subjects "Steve Jobs Alive!", "Steve Jobs Not Dead!", "Steve Jobs: Not Dead Yet!" and "Is Steve Jobs Really Dead?" have been received by a lot of people in the past few hours so stay on alert.

The body of the message contains only a link that's supposed to lead to a hot piece of news.

The cybercriminals took over a legitimate website called CardioVascularLIVE which they injected with malicious redirecting code.

According to m86 Security Labs, after two redirects, the victim is taken to a Blackhole exploit kit landing page, which tries to find vulnerabilities in the system in order to download malicious files that will infect the device.

The researchers couldn't precisely determine what payload is actually deployed but in any case, it couldn't be something too nice.

These hackers have no moral or ethical values and they profit from the passing of a great man, but this should only make us be even more alert. If you take a close look at the link, you would realize that anything that has to do with Steve Jobs being alive wouldn't end up on a medical website.

A small advice, as always, try not to click on suspicious links received by email and never open attachments coming from what seems to be a legitimate organization. Keep your computer healthy by installing an anti-virus solution and always treat things that seem unreal with a high level of suspicion.
