DJ hosting service to be buried May 1st

Yep, a short and sad piece of news for all people who love DJs and the work they've put up, what they have done so far: the popular web location hosting so many music files will go down starting May 1st.

What has started back in 2005 and quickly grew to become a very loved and appreciated place where enthusiasts, producers, newbies or even pro DJs all met and presented the world what they were doing or looking for, will soon be no more. The cool thing about mixdepot.net was that the bandwidth was unlimited and thus artists weren't forced to constantly buy up new upgrades for their accounts unless they wanted more server space.

As this will be the last month of service for mixdepot.net, the owner of the site decided to make all memberships free of charge, no matter whether new or already existing and until the site will become unavailable all features will stay the same as they have been and still are in this moment.

The exact reasons for which this web service will be closed down are not known yet even though rumors claim two major possible causes. The first rumor contains the R, I, A and A letters and yet can't be verified unless the owner of the website makes an official statement or RIAA go forth and brag on cutting down another "major threat" to the music industry. Personally, even though such a thing won't surprise me too much (I ceased to be surprised by RIAA some time ago) I guess the odds are rather slim-to-none.

The second possible cause comprises two inter-related aspects which go together in both directions (up or down) in a snowball effect: serious fluctuations in people's interest in the website and thus the impossibility to pay off the bills... needless to say more on this, I guess.

Until a press release is out, once more, too bad mixdepot.net is on its last road... make plenty of good use of it for this last month of existence!
