The handset should include other improvements as well

BlackBerry enthusiasts have now yet another reason to rejoice as it seems that Research in Motion is set to come to the market with a new device, namely the BlackBerry Storm 2, which is expected to arrive as soon as September this year.

As many of you might already know, the company's BlackBerry Storm device proved to be a rather great success, as it was the first mobile phone the Canadian maker released to the market with touchscreen capabilities. According to SlashGear, the upcoming follower of the BlackBerry Storm will eliminate one of the most criticized issues the device had (not only a problem with that smartphone, but with more Verizon handsets it seems), namely it will come with Wi-Fi capabilities.

SlashGear says that the info on the BlackBerry Storm 2 comes from “a source very close to the issue,” though it wouldn't name it, yet it says that the details are accurate. In addition to the Wi-Fi capabilities, it seems that the upcoming Storm 2 is also expected to prove a better Pro-consumer device than its predecessor was.

For the time being there are no details regarding other changes that the phone maker and Verizon will make to the upcoming Storm handset, like some that would affect the touchscreen, as the first device registered some complaints about the display as well, yet it seems that we should be able to see a Storm 2 that comes with more features than just the simple addition of Wi-Fi capabilities.

The Blackberry Storm would still remain one of RIM's flagship devices, especially as it came to the market as a competitor against Apple's iPhone. And since the company released only a few days ago its own version of a software portal, namely the Blackberry App World, it seems that the touchscreen device has even more advantages in its “battle” against the iPhone. As soon as the Storm 2 is here, considering that it will come with both Wi-Fi and other improvements over the previous version of the device, we should probably see a lot of people joining forces with Verizon.
