Four months after its official release on the market, RIM brings the BlackBerry Bold 9790 smartphone in Spain.

The handset is available via Movistar with a range of promotional deals at all retail points of the carrier.

The operator offers customers the chance to trade in their older BlackBerry device and use Movistar loyalty points to get a discount of 40 EUR (50 USD) or more from the price of the BlackBerry Bold 9790.

In addition, customers who must pay more than 100 EUR (130 USD), even after having applied point discounts and trading in their older BlackBerry smartphone, will be allowed to finance their purchase with payments from 20 EUR (25 USD) per month for up to 18 months (no interest).

Movistar customers who do not want to commit to a new long-term contract can purchase the BlackBerry Bold 9790 for a suggested retail price of 409 EUR (535 USD).

One of the latest BlackBerry 7 smartphones launched by RIM, Bold 9790 offers both worlds, a small 2.45-inch capacitive touchscreen (480 x 360 pixels) and a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Slightly less powerful than the BlackBerry Bold 9900, the smartphone is equipped with a single-core Marvel Tavor MG1 processor clocked at 1 GHz and 768 MB of RAM.

On the inside, the smartphone packs 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

Aside from the update BlackBerry OS, the Bold 9790 comes with a range of personal and productivity apps out of the box.

It also features built-in support for Augmented Reality and NFC (Near Field Communications), allowing users to connect with the world around them in different ways.

With the Wikitude Augmented Reality app, users can find nearby BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) contacts in real-time, read reviews on restaurants, or find info on points of interest.
