RIM is extending the period of free BBM Music service to six months for BlackBerry users living in UK (new BBM Music users only).

Apparently, the service didn’t take off as expected, and RIM is expanding the trial period, so as to make it more appealing to new users. In the US, the service offers a four months trial.

BBM Music was announced back in August. Through it, users can get access up to 50 music tracks for £4.99 a month, and can swap 25 of them a month, each month.

Moreover, the service enables users to share their songs with friends, and also to access the songs their friends have shared. Thus, users will benefit from access to more songs if they connect to more people.

With BBM Music, users can invite Facebook and Twitter contacts to give the service a try. Songs come from Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI and more.
