When it rains, it pours, and when it comes to various BlackBerry PlayBook models that might become available for purchase in the not too far future, we can add another rumored version to the list.

Apparently, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is determined to take full advantage of the increased data transfer capabilities of new 4G networks, and might release a LTE (Long Term Evolution) flavor of the device too quite soon.

A few weeks ago, the company announced the upcoming availability of a WiMAX-capable PlayBook model headed for Sprint's network in the United States, and that might actually be only the first 4G iteration of the device that it would bring to shelves.

A recent article on ubergizmo claims that RIM would also plan the release of a LTE-enables BlackBerry PlayBook for wireless carrier AT&T.

Moreover, the device would be preceded by a 3G flavor fit for AT&T's network, and which should become available for purchase sometime in March this year.

The tablet PC seems to be pretty appealing, and it might enjoy popularity among end-users as soon as it is released on shelves. Thus, both the 3G and the LTE-capable versions of the device might prove successful on AT&T's airwaves.

Some of the previous reports on the PlayBook suggested that RIM would manage to ship around one million units during the first quarter of the ongoing year alone, even if the device would be released only in March.

RIM already confirmed the upcoming availability of 3G-enabled PlayBook models, but did not unveil info on the LTE versions of the device.

However, in case this pans out, it would prove that previous rumors suggesting that RIM might actually hold back from launching 4G devices due to high costs were actually false.

There is no confirmation on the AT&T-bound LTE version of the PlayBook, but more info on it might emerge soon.
