The phone is available via its carrier partners

Canadian mobile phone maker Research in Motion has recently announced that its BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphones were launched on the market in Hong Kong. At the same time, the company has stated that BlackBerry users in Hong Kong now have the opportunity to enjoy access to its BlackBerry App World, which will provide them with the possibility to browse and download a great deal of applications for the BlackBerry OS.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700, also known as the Bold 2, comes to the market with 3G (HSDPA) connectivity options, a next-generation (624 MHz) processor, a 3.2 megapixel photo snapper, touch-sensitive trackpad, a QWERTY keyboard, built-in GPS receiver, and Wi-Fi connectivity. According to RIM, the smartphone can deliver top-of-the-line performance, functionality and features to all users out there.

The specs list of the phone, which can be accessed here, also includes: - BlackBerry OS 5.0, offering users email management and calendar enhancements as well as a better browsing experience with faster JavaScript and CSS processing - Media player for videos, pictures and music (music plays up to 38 hours), plus support for BlackBerry Desktop Manager for both PCs and Macs, and BlackBerry Media Sync for easily syncing pictures and iTunes and Windows Media Player music with the smartphone - Sharp and dazzling 2.44” light-sensing display (480 x 360 resolution at 245 ppi) - Sleek design measuring 4.29" x 2.36" x 0.56" (109 mm x 60 mm x 14.1 mm) and weighing only 4.3 oz (122 grams) - Support for BlackBerry services with access to up to 10 supported email accounts (including most popular ISP email accounts such as Yahoo!, Windows Live Hotmail, AOL and Gmail); and BlackBerry Enterprise Server support, which features advanced security and IT administration capabilities for corporate deployments

The BlackBerry App World is the official software solutions portal for BlackBerry smartphones, delivering access to a great deal of applications aimed both at business and personal use. The owners of a smartphone from RIM will receive a catalog of applications specifically designed for their handset, which can be accessed both via a carrier's network and via Wi-Fi. According to the handset vendor, the new BlackBerry Bold 9700 can be purchased from its partner carriers in Hong Kong, and its price will differ from one operator to another.
