RHEL 5 and 6 Get Firefox 10.0 and Thunderbird 10.0.1

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6, enterprise Linux platforms suited for a range of applications across the IT infrastructure, have received updates for Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird.

According to the Red Hat developers, Mozilla Firefox is now at version 10.0, addressing a number of security issues, bugs, and bringing a some important enhancements.

For Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, Mozilla Thunderbird was been upgraded from
version 2.0.0.24 to version 10.0.1, and for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Thunderbird was upgraded from version 3.1.18 to version 10.0.1.

The Red Hat Security Response Team has rated this as having moderate security impact, but nonetheless, everyone should install the updates as soon as possible and restart the applications.

The update affects the following operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop 5.0, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop 6.0, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.0, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server AUS 6.2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server EUS 6.2z, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation 6.0, and RHEL Optional Productivity Applications 5.0.
