Celio Corp, the company that came to the market with the REDFLY Mobile Companion, announced on Wednesday at the CTIA 2009 show in Las Vegas that its device had been enhanced with support for 18 new Windows Mobile smartphones from different mobile phone makers, among which we can count the AT&T Fuze, Sprint Touch Pro and the HTC Touch Diamond. The number of REDFLY-compatible devices has been leveraged to 54 with the new additions.

“Celio’s goal is to support every phone we can, especially those that are most popular among our customers,” Kirt Bailey, president and CEO of Celio Corp, said. “We are very excited about this group of new phones, as they are the next generation of smartphones. Their computing power is so robust that it really enhances our customers’ REDFLY experience.”

At the same time, the company also announced the release of a service pack for its device, meant to provide enhanced speeds and compatibility with the REDFLY driver and firmware. According to Celio Corp, the service pack is meant to offer increased speed over USB and Bluetooth, while also adding compatibility with more applications such as Opera Mobile 9.5. In addition, the overall stability of the driver has been increased as well.

“This service pack will give our customers an even better experience while using their REDFLYs,” Bailey said. “Customers will experience reduced latency when typing and working with applications on the REDFLY. And by fully supporting Opera Mobile 9.5, we’ve given our customers something they’ve been asking for and we’re positive they’ll enjoy the experience.”

The list of new mobile phones that have received support from Celio now includes, among others, the AT&T Epix, Sprint Ace, Sprint Treo Pro, Verizon i910 (Omnia) and Verizon Saga, as well as unlocked handsets such as the ASUS P527, HP Advantage X7510, Motorola MC35 or Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. Those who would like either to view the entire list of the handsets supported by REDFLY Mobile Companion or to download the updated driver and firmware should go to the company's website.
