Celio Corp. announced today that its REDFLY Mobile Companion had been awarded the title of Most Innovative Mobile Service at the 19th Annual Andrew Seybold Choice Awards Dinner at CTIA Wireless 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company is now in line with previous winners like Research in Motion, T-Mobile, and Qualcomm, which also had the chance to take home said award.

“When I first saw the REDFLY Mobile Companion I was skeptical,” said Andrew M. Seybold, CEO and principal consultant of Andrew Seybold, Inc. “Since the early 1990s there have been at least five other products based on the same premise. However, upon investigation I saw that this was the first company to get it right. The power of the smartphone coupled with the capabilities of the REDFLY Mobile Companion is a winning combination.”

As many of you might already know, the REDFLY Mobile Companion comes with a large screen, as well as with a full-QWERTY keyboard and touchpad, along with USB, VGA and media ports, offering consumers the possibility to use their smartphone in a similar way they would do with a laptop. The REDFLY does not feature an OS, a processor or storage capabilities, using instead all the power that the smartphone is able to provide, while offering users the possibility to interact with the user interface of the handset, as well as to access remote PC and company applications on a display that provides an 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

The cost of the REDFLY and its ownership are much lower compared to that of a laptop or netbook due to the fact that it does not need additional software, wireless subscriptions or IT management, says the company. It has been developed as a tool meant to increase people's productivity and efficiency.

“Andrew’s group has a knack for knowing which mobile and wireless companies and products are truly innovating the market, and it’s a great honor for the REDFLY Mobile Companion to be recognized as such,” said Kirt Bailey, president and CEO of Celio Corp. “This award further solidifies REDFLY’s presence as a leader in bringing the smartphone to forefront of mobile computing and we plan on bringing more products to market that will enhance the way we interact with smartphones.”
