RED, an American professional digital camera manufacturer, has released firmware beta version 4.0.9, build 4 for their SCARLET camera.

Before we tell you what fixes have been made, you should know that you will not be able to roll back to earlier firmware revisions than 2.0.2 after installing 4.0.9. REDMote firmware v5.0.x is required to be functional.

Be advised that the update deletes user-generated Preset, Look and Custom Overlay files.

Fixes have been made on the rack focus and can now toggle between points when in 1:1 magnify. The AF has been corrected as well and can now restore framerate/exposure time to correct values.

Additions include the ability to enable/disable REDlink and an error popup when clip fails to load.

As an interesting fact, the RED cameras are responsible for the high-quality video seen in Oz: The Great and Powerful, The Hobbit, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, Hitchcock, Silent Hill: Revelations, Total Recall, The Amazing Spider-man or Jumper.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide the firmware through our database, but you can log in to RED's website and download it.
