“RED” was one of the biggest surprises of 2010, not only because it was a solid action comedy but also because it showed that age has nothing to do with one’s ability to carry such a movie. The sequel drops in theaters this month.

Embedded with this blog post are two brand new TV spots for it, with the one below being the most recent.

What I liked the most about the original was the healthy sense of humor, so I am more than pleased to see that it did not stand to suffer in the sequel.

Is it just me or is that an NSA jab with the “they’re not taping your phones, reading your emails but actually saving the world” line?

“RED 2” (with RED standing for Retired, Extremely Dangerous) will be out on July 19, and lists huge names like Dame Helen Mirren, Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Neal McDonough.
