The Royal Bank of Scotland has announced today that they have plans of launching a mobile banking service in the North Wales area very soon. Their new
mobile service will be operated from Llandudno and, according to the official statements, will run five days a week to offer banking to approximately 11 Welsh communities.
This type of service is not new in the list of the ones already offered by RBS, the one to be launched in North Wales being the newest addition to the already
working other sixteen mobile banks, banks that are serving at the moment over 300 communities all over Scotland.
As the managing director of RBS, Ewen Munro, has declared, "the Royal Bank of Scotland has a long tradition of providing customers with mobile banking services and we are delighted that we can now bring this to the communities in North Wales".
He has also said that "in addition to nearly 650 branches, we will be running a total of sixteen mobile banks and a Flying Bank in Scotland, making life easier for thousands of customers since our first
mobile bank was launched in 1946. At a time when some organizations are closing branches, we firmly believe that our branch network, and services such as the mobile bank, remain very important for the communities they serve."
The new mobile service to be launched will offer to the people from Amlwch, Brynsiencyn, Betws-y-Coed, Llanddeusant, Beddgelert, Rhosneigr, Bryngwran, Llanrwst, Kingsland, Llangefni and Glan Conwy all the banking services available in a conventional bank, these including payments in cash and cheques, cash withdrawals, bill payments and ordering
foreign currency.
The release date has already been announced by RBS and if they will keep their word, the people from the communities already mentioned above will have access to day to day banking service beginning with February 2007.
