The judge who is in charge with R. Kelly's child pornography case demands prosecutors to identify the period when the tape was filmed, in which the singer was captured on videotape having sex with an underage girl.
The State's attorney claims that R. Kelly had sex with an underage girl in the period between November 1997 and February 2002, in which the 15-minute taping may have occurred.
But Judge Vincent Gaughan said the 51-month period in which the event could of happened is to big and made it clear that prosecutors have to be more specific. Gaughan specified that 51 months means 2.23 million minutes and the tape has only 15 minutes. The next hearing has been scheduled for July 20.
"Our burden is to prove the people on the tape are the defendant and the victim and that the victim is under 18," said spokeswoman Marcy Jensen.
Kelly is charged with 14 counts of child pornography. He appeared in court on Friday, but he and his attorney left without commenting to reporters.
