   R. Kelly refuses to acknowledge his daughter’s coming out as transgender, says it’s all “rumors”

Earlier this month, R. Kelly’s youngest daughter, Jaya Kelly (13), came out as transgender on his ask.fm page, saying he’d known he was a boy since a very young age but had just decided to become the person inside: Jay. He also said that, a couple of months before, when he came out to his family, his father was still to find out about it.

If R. Kelly’s most recent interview is any indication, he’s yet to learn of Jay’s decision because he still believes it’s just an unfounded rumor spread around by celebrity blogs picking on him because he’s famous and rich. And rich.

Either that, or he’s really hoping to sweep this under the rug and keep all personal matters private, even though it was Jay who came out – and it was Jay’s choice to do so, he wasn’t forced into it or anything.

“You don't really wanna open it up by saying that my daughter is becoming my son,” he tells WGCI in an interview after their Summer Jam concert (at the 3:40 minute in the video). He looks upset that he’s even being asked this, even though he was the one who said just before that he likes keeping it real.

“Because if that were true… Don't even give the blogs that kind of credit. You know what I'm saying? Real talk. But as far as that is concerned. Always believe what you see with your own eyes that is. Always believe what you see. That is the best way to go about this business,” he continues.

“And I've heard a lot of things about a lot of people and it was never true. And even if that were true… You gotta know there's a back story. There's a background. That's why you can't judge nobody,” he says.

There’s no room for doubt that R. Kelly is saying that there is no truth to the rumor because bloggers made it up to boost traffic to their sites, since he’s such a famous artist and he’s been in the industry for such a long time.

As for the judging part, it wasn’t like this was some plot to out his daughter as transgender, like it happened with many celebrities who have been outed as gay in recent years. So there was no judging. In fact, when Jay came out (and delivered quite a surprise to the same bloggers Kelly is accusing of having a bone to pick with him), he was widely embraced and praised for his courage and honesty.

Even so, Kelly would have us believe that it’s all a lie, which probably means he and Jay aren’t on speaking terms.

Moreover, as of 2 hours ago, on the same ask.fm page where Jay came out, he was still answering questions on the topic, confirming he’s transgender and even revealing he’s into girls. He has a crush on a girl but they’re not dating yet, he says.

Check out his dad denying it all.
