14 DAY TRIAL // Australian audio company, RØDE, has announced a new on-camera microphone from their successful VideoMic series called VideoMic GO.
This new microphone joins the other three models from the same series and is designed for consumers that are just starting to shoot high-definition video with a DSLR, compact camera and even GoPro action cameras.
Designed to be compact and lightweight, the new VideoMic GO has a tight pickup area that focuses directly in front of the microphone, which reduces surrounding sounds and delivers a clear, crisp, directional audio isolating the subject from distracting background noise.
In addition to that, VideoMic GO weighs only 73g / 2.5oz, making it the lightest on-camera microphone from the Australian-based company. The microphone is protected from knocks and bumps by a single piece of thermoplastic, which comes with an integrated suspension based on Rycote's Lyre system.
The Lyre system is quite different from the elastic-based suspension systems, and due to the thermoplastic material used, it will never snap, sag or wear out.
The RØDE VideoMic GO is as easy to use as it can be and doesn't need an external power supply. It has no switches or complicated settings and is ready to be used as soon as connected. All you have to do is to mount it on your camera, connect the 3.5mm stereo mini-jack and you're ready to start filming.
