Keep yourself and others healthy

It's been medically and statistically proven that smoking is a very bad thing, which affects the human body in a very adverse manner. For this reason, countless methods that are supposed to help people quit have appeared on the market over the past few years, each of them providing both advantages and disadvantages, probably the biggest shortcoming being their lack of "realism." However, that's not at all the case with the "Fifty-One," an electronic cigarette that, according to its manufacturer, provides both a healthier and a very realistic alternative to one's usual cigarettes.

As you can see from the photo, the "Fifty-One" resembles the look and feel of a real cigarette, and has a very simple construction, with only two parts: the rechargeable battery and the disposable cartridge, which includes both the nicotine pad and atomizing mechanism.

One of the most important features provided by the "Fifty-One" is the fact that the design of the cartridge makes sure that the atomizer is never reused, thereby avoiding problems with nicotine residue, build-up and clogging. Plus, puffing on "Fifty-One" doesn't generate smoke, since users will instead draw in a "vapor" that is dense enough even to be noticeable when exhaled. In this way, this "alternative" smoking experience becomes actually pretty similar to the real deal.

It's important to point out that the "vapor" mentioned above, which delivers a carefully-controlled amount of nicotine, is completely safe to other people, which means that second-hand smoking is really not an issue with the "Fifty-One." The whole effect sans dangerous chemicals is achieved by using propylene glycol, an ingredient found in a wide array of other products, such as toothpaste, mouthwash and moisturizers.

Now, as you've probably expected, quitting smoking does come at a price (other than gaining quite a few pounds), and in the case of the "Fifty-One," that price is 150 US dollars for the starter kit, which includes two nicotine cartridges that come in various strengths, including 8 mg., 6 mg., 4 mg. and 0 mg., as well as five flavors, including tobacco, menthol, chocolate, vanilla and coffee, two lithium batteries (one long, which lasts the average user a full day, and one short, which lasts about half that time), and a battery charger.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
