A 34-year-old woman from Utah has successfully delivered quintuplets in Salt Lake City on Sunday, May 26.

Guillermina Garcia's delivery was a first time event for doctors at the University of Utah Hospital. She had been administered fertility drugs and she has given birth to three girls and two boys.

She has been under medical supervision in the hospital since April, and the babies were born at 31 weeks.

According to KUTV, Esmeralda, Fatima and Marissa and boys Fernando and Jordan were born 2 minutes apart.

While the children were born early in the pregnancy, most quintuplets only get 27 to 29 weeks in the womb.

At weights ranging from 2 lbs 12 oz (1.25 kg) to 3 lbs 14 oz (1.76 kg), doctors are optimistic about their development.
