We can all agree that the Quicksilver character was one of the funniest in the movie “X-Men: Day of Future Past.” The prison scene is probably one of the funniest and most entertaining in the movie so there's really not a big surprise that some people with the studio think he will get his own movie.

Second unit director for “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” Brian Smrz, has discussed in a recent interview with Newsarama the possibility of a spinoff starring just Quicksilver. “We talked about Quicksilver before, I'd love to do Quicksilver as a solo film because there's a lot to enjoy with that character,” said Smrz.

At the moment, 20th Century Fox is trying to create lasting franchises out of as many superhero characters as possible, but only those that they think will have an appeal to the public. Out of the X-Men franchise, Gambit is also being eyed for a separate solo project, and he is said to be played by Channing Tatum.

Meanwhile, Quicksilver is going to keep making appearances in several other superhero movies. For example, he is to appear in “Avengers: Age of Ulton” as well as “X-Men: Apocalypse” that is set to be released in March, 2016.
