Get more reliable matching of actions with items in the first pane under Mavericks

App launcher Quicksilver is now at version 1.2.0 Build 400A, and those of you who are running the app on a Mavericks computer prepare for some good news. Action matching is finally reliable.

I gave Quicksilver a quick go on my OS X 10.9.2 configuration and, as QSApp promised, you get reliable matching of actions with items in the first pane. Not only that, but accessing items recently copied to the clipboard no longer crashes the app, I’m happy to report.

The ability to drag and drop objects from the Quicksilver interface has been restored and Type Text action works with more items, according to the developers.

Actions are assigned correctly when an application claims support for files, the Finder Selection proxy will now correctly refer to symbolic links instead of the links targets, and the Current Selection proxy object is more efficient and reliable.

Automator actions “Get Quicksilver Selection and Send to Quicksilver” are in good working order, and the plugin updater no longer goes off screen.

Other fixes include:

Use display names in command descriptions The Finder Selection proxy object will only be cached for 0.5 seconds The Latest Download proxy object will only be cached for 0.5 seconds Default cache time for proxy objects reduced from 3 seconds to 2

Download Quicksilver 1.2.0 on any Mac running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or later. The software is free to download and use indefinitely.
