14 DAY TRIAL // After upgrading its office solution for Android smartphones, Quickoffice has just announced that Quickoffice Pro HD for Honeycomb tablets has updated with new features and performance improvements.
With the new custom-build application for Honeycomb tablets, users are provided with a single-screen, multi-pane document view, along with integrated access to cloud partners, Box.net, Dropbox, Google Docs, Huddle, SugarSync and MobileMe.
The latest Quickoffice Pro HD for Android offers instant editing for quick revisions and displays footnotes and endnotes within Word documents.
Quickoffice also included formula builder usability improvements, contextual input based on the cell format and inline cell selection and scrolling to make Excel calculations much easier.
Furthermore, those who use the PowerPoint features will be able to enjoy more formatting capabilities, including undo / redo, picture insertion and deletion, shape background editing and numbered list recalculation.
In addition, users can insert shapes into a presentation and render vertical text.
“Increasingly, we are seeing more Android-based tablets being released into the market, as well as more consumers and enterprises leveraging their tablets for content creation,” said David Halpin, VP of engineering at Quickoffice.
It is also worth mentioning that Quickoffice Pro HD provides users with the possibility to create and edit 2003 and 2007 Microsoft Office and PDF files.
The application was especially developed to work on larger tablet form factor and touch interface, and it integrates Quickoffice's proprietary SmartTouch technology.
“Quickoffice is well-positioned to capitalize on these trends, as we continue to release new updates to our Android tablet application and bring critical Microsoft Office functionality to users, along with seamless access to content stored in the cloud,” added Halpin.
Unfortunately, the latest version of Quickoffice Pro HD can only be downloaded from the developer's site, but at least is available for a promotional price of $19.99.
