QuickLicense 2.2. Drag, Drop... Done!

Excel Software has just updated its QuickLicense protection software adding a drag-and-drop feature that makes a world of difference for software vendors, who will now be able to drop an app onto the AddLicense icon in order to wrap it with any license configured from QuickLicense. The protected app is generated within seconds!

QuickLicense version 2.2 is available for both the Mac and Windows license protection software."A software vendor can now drag and drop an application onto the AddLicense desktop icon to wrap it with any license configured from QuickLicense," the company said. "A protected application is generated in seconds using the original application icon and no programming required," says the official Excel Software report.

Software makers can easily configure and manage pretty much any kind of software license. Those include time-limited trial editions, execution limited trial editions, machine/name-activated licenses or software subscriptions and so on.

Leaving aside that you can actually determine how the activation procedure works, complete with software usage restrictions, in order to hold the license information, the runtime and encrypted ticket files are deployed with the application. QuickLicence immediately calls the runtime to validate the license at startup.

"A user can activate and use a protected application on any computer even without an Internet connection. Activation codes provided by phone, email or instant Web page can work with any download or retail distribution process. The optional Safe Activation Service from Excel Software allows a vendor to present a customized activation Web page, control activation count by serial number and present instant activation codes to users," says Excel Software.

Software vendors can grab QuickLicense for $495 on Mac OS X or Windows, or pay $795 to get it for both platforms. You can download the QuickLicense movie from the company website to actually see how the license configuration and activation process works.
