Just a handy way to preview images at their max size

While OS X certainly presents users with a lot of handy image viewing options, more often than not you’ll find yourself wanting to just preview photos at their full size. And Preview doesn’t cut it.

In case you don’t have any fancy imaging software installed, chances are you’re stuck with OS X’s built-in Preview app for a quick photo preview. Or maybe you’re a fan of QuickLook, the system-wide previewing tool which lets you open an image with the press of the space bar.

But neither lets you see images in their full size (unless you make some cumbersome adjustments, in the case of Preview). Your Mail application, however, does.

Simply drag one or more images over your Mail app in the Dock and it will instantly load them up in its message window as attachments to whatever you’re (not) about to write.

You can now drag the corners of Mail.app’s window and see your images expand, and expand, and expand… until there’s no more room on your display. Go ahead and try it out!
