Few other Quentin Tarantino projects have been so controversial before they were even in the filming stage, but between script delays, leaks and a lawsuit, “The Hateful Eight,” Tarantino's latest western, finally got the greenlight and has even a release date out now.

Famous director Quentin Tarantino initially bailed on the movie project altogether earlier this year after its script was leaked. Tarantino was so furious that he sued everyone and anyone who got within reading distance. He then claimed he was dropping the project as a movie.

Later, he came back to less violent thoughts and decided to make a graphic novel out of his story, then a theater play. He even had a live reading of the script in front of an audience. It took him some more months before he finally relented and came back around to his original idea of making a western movie.

The movie is going to be distributed by the Weinstein Company. A press release from the distributor said on Wednesday that “The Hateful Eight” is going to hit cinemas in the fall of 2015. “"We are incredibly excited to begin production on ‘The Hateful Eight,’ as we know this picture will be as innovative, brash and of course fun as all Quentin projects prior,” read the statement from the Weinstein brothers quoted by the NY Daily News.
