This is one piece of memorabilia that you won’t be putting on your trophy shelf: a pair of knickers once worn by Queen Elizabeth II will go up for sale and will hopeful go to the highest bidder for an estimated $9,000.

The knickers have been in the possession of the same man for about 4 decades, but he’s now deceased and his estate is trying to make money from wherever possible, TMZ reports.

Though the bloomers can easily be described as the least attractive “undergarment to ever become available,” as TMZ calls it, without a doubt, people to bid on it will be plenty.

“The pair of panties came in to the possession of a famous Miami playboy named ‘Baron’ Joseph de Bicske Dobronyi – or Sepy, as he was known,” TMZ reports. He’s had them since then, for the rest of his life.

“As the story goes, Sepy got them from a friend after they were left on a private plane when the Queen visited Chile in 1968,” says the same e-zine.

“Sepy passed away back in June and now the estate plans on auctioning off this piece of Royal memorabilia. We’re told the estate will offer them up to the same auction house that sold Queen Victoria’s undies back in 2008, and they hope to get the same price – around $9,000,” TMZ also notes.

The media outlet even has photos of the item in question – and it shows a pair of high-waist knickers, with plenty of lace but none of the wow factor that is usually associated with it.

Speaking of knickers and odd items that go on sale, later last week, we informed you that one company has just set a new record, for the biggest female underwear ever.

Fresh of the success of the XXXXXXXXL underpants, the Big Bloomers Company listened to its customers and made an even bigger size, the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL panties, for a size 74 woman.

Not only that, but the new knickers are already flying off the shelves, with women in Australia and New Zealand being among the most loyal customers.
