Microsoft and Remedy Entertainment have unveiled a brand new extended gameplay video of their upcoming Quantum Break title, which highlights new footage from an actual time tear and how protagonist Jack can use his time-bending powers to manipulate them.

Quantum Break was revealed as one of the most ambitious Xbox One exclusives set to debut for Microsoft's new console in the following years back in May of 2013, when the device made its public debut.

Pitched as a cross-media experience, in which people can play the game and then watch a TV show that fills in the gaps in terms of content and story, Quantum Break is certainly one of the more intriguing experiences that will appear on Microsoft's device.

After showcasing brief glimpses at the third-person shooter, earlier this year at Gamescom 2014 a full-fledged gameplay video was rolled out.

Even more gameplay footage is now available

An extended version of that same gameplay trailer is now available, via Xbox Wire, and showcases not just the regular footage but more sequences that accurately depict the time bending that happens during the game's story.

In case you forgot, Quantum Break follows the results of a time travel experiment that goes wrong, making protagonist Jack acquire certain time manipulation powers, but also a breakdown of time itself. This causes plenty of problems for the world overall, as violent time tears happen, in which antagonist Paul Serene causes even more havoc.

The video also has insight from the developer

What's more, besides featuring some intense moments, the video also has commentary from Remedy's Sam Lake, the creative director of Quantum Break, who highlights plenty of impressive sequences from the upcoming title.

"Listen in as Sam paints the picture of the bridge scene where our hero Jack Joyce must sneak past Monarch eyes in order to rendezvous with Quantum Break’s other lead character Beth Wilder. Discover the story behind Jack’s 'special time powers,' and how his once-best-friend Paul Serene became his mortal enemy. Learn about the different time amplified gameplay features as Sam describes their uses for navigating the action-packed world of Quantum Break," Microsoft says about the new video.

Quantum Break is set to debut for the Xbox One in 2015. As of yet, it's still unclear how the game and the TV show are set to roll out, but you can expect to hear much more as we step into the new year. Until then, enjoy the new gameplay video below.
