Quantic Dream's next project is not called Horizon, as it has been previously reported. David Cage, co-CEO, has recently denied these rumors and said that the games his company was working would be announced when the time was right. He went on the quell all hope for a Heavy Rain sequel, saying that his aim was to drive the industry forward.

Speaking about the rumors with Eurogamer, Cage stated, “I don't know where this information comes from but there is no project called Horizon featuring a couple in a science-fiction world currently in development at Quantic Dream. Though if the script is available it sounds like a good idea.”

Innovation is Quantic Dream's focus at the moment, according to Cage. “Most of the team currently works on the next generation of technology and future concepts. We plan to significantly improve the technology compared to Heavy Rain, continue to take risks and explore new grounds,” he said in the interview.

This comes just as he also announced that no new packs of downloadable content would be coming for Heavy Rain because of the time that was needed to implement PlayStation Move control in the title. “Many people wondered why we were not 'milking the cow' after the success of Heavy Rain - why we were not creating a sequel for next Christmas,” he said about a potential Heavy Rain follow-up. “It may sound weird from the outside, but this is really not how I see my company. We genuinely try to be pioneers for this medium and discover new possibilities, which means taking more risks and not always giving people what they expect.” Heavy Rain Move Edition is set to be released sometime later this year, after the launch of the PlayStation Move in September.
