In anticipation of new smartwatch models, Qualcomm drops the price of its Toq

There has been plenty of talk regarding smartwatches lately with Sony, Huawei, HTC and Samsung expected to unleash new models on the market soon.

But if you don’t want to wait for them and you wouldn’t mind a Qualcomm Toq (except for the hefty price tag of $350 / €254) you should know, the chip-maker is willing to shave off a nice $100 / €73 off the initial price, leaving you to purchase it for just $250 / €181 a pop.

On top of the recent SDK for the Toq roll-out it seems Qualcomm is striving to promote its smartwatch, as an attempt to sediment its position in the market, before cool new models make it out into the world.

More than that, it looks like the price-drop doesn’t come with an expiration date, so this is what the Toq will cost from now on.
