Before the advent of Tegra 2 and OMAP, Qualcomm's Snapdragon system-on-a-chip stood at the heart of many smartphones out there, so in order to build up some interest for this SoC yet again the company has build one of the most interesting contraptions we have seen to date.

It's called the Qualcomm Bug Circus Generator and just as its name implies it relies on the power of bugs for generating the power required for powering a Snapdragon smartphone.

The video enclosed above shows this awesome contraption and how a praying mantis, scorpion, tarantula, and a host of other insects can be used to charge your phone.

Qualcomm doesn't say how much time it takes for this generator to recharge a depleted battery, but we can't say that we care as this is definitely something that you won't get tired of looking at.

Finally, we have to mention that Qualcomm assured no bugs were harmed during filming of this video, although we don't know what happened to the beetle at the end of the video. (via Geek)
