Quake 4 was first mentioned at QuakeCon 2001 and since then details have not stopped to appear.
According to Activision, it seems the gamers' patience will be rewarded at the end of this year, somewhere in October or December.
Based on the engine of Doom3, Quake 4 will be continue the story from Quake
2 and this time the game will be significantly improved.
A few days ago, IGN.com interviewed
Tim Willits, Lead Designer at id Software, who promised amazing things for the new title.
Quake 4 will have vehicles, "smarter" monsters, more sophisticated weapons and even team members who will be coordinated in battle.
Tim Willits has even admitted that Ouake 4 is influenced by titles like Halo or Call of Duty and that the graphics engine will be significantly improved to deal with the new challenges.
You don't have to worry about system requirements because Willits said the game will run on any computer which supports Doom 3.
