XOLO, one of the most popular mobile brands in India, has made official this week its cheapest quad-core smartphone to date, in the form of XOLO Q500s IPS.

The handset has already been added to the company’s website, where it can be seen listed at Rs. 5,999 ($100/€74), but has yet to become available for purchase.

When it does, however, it will be able to deliver pretty decent performance capabilities for its segment, courtesy of the aforementioned CPU.

The new XOLO Q500s IPS will arrive on shelves shortly in five color flavors, including Black, Blue, Green, Red, and White, yet no official release date for it has been provided as of now.

What we know, however, is the fact that it will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M CPU and that it will also arrive on shelves with Mali400 MP2 graphics and 512MB of RAM inside.

“Packed with the power of 1.3GHz Quad core processor and Mali 400 MP2 Graphics Engine, Q500s IPS delivers a seamless graphics performance, allowing enhanced experience of gaming, browsing and watching movies,” XOLO claims.

The new mobile phone was listed on the company’s website with 4GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD memory card slot, and with dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) with Dual Standby capabilities.

Moreover, it sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, as well as a VGA front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The smartphone measures 125 x 63.2 x 8.98mm and features support for 3G networks (HSPA+ 21Mbps) and the usual Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. A built-in GPS receiver was also included in the package, along with a 1500mAh battery.

“Be awed with the super slim design of your new phone. With just 8.89mm thickness, it looks super trendy and elegant. Choose from five amazing colors and let your phone be your new style statement,” XOLO notes.

XOLO Q500s IPS comes to shelves with a 4-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 480 x 800 pixels resolution, which should still be able to deliver a crisp, bright, and sharp viewing experience.

According to XOLO, the new handset is capable of full HD video playback and can also record clips in 1080p resolution, something that will certainly appeal a lot to its users.

At the same time, the new device runs under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, thus being capable of providing users with the latest Android experience out there, including optimized performance.
