A new report has made its way to the web, one which states that a previously unknown Intel CPU from the Core series will find its way to stores before next month is over and done with.

The folks over at CPU World are living up to their website's name, having stumbled upon information pointing towards the likelihood of an extra Intel CPU being scheduled for September release.

This might be something of an encouraging prospect, considering how a certain other CPU line has reportedly been delayed.

Basically, the report has new information on the Core i7-2670QM, a quad-core central processor which, according to product listings on the notebook segment, will be officially unveiled within a few weeks.

The unit will be either preceded or followed (if not shown at the same time) by the previously spotted dual-core Core i7-2640M and three more Core i7, with 4 cores each.

Regardless, prospective buyers will want to know some specifications of the i7-2670QM, and the report delivered.

It has a frequency that is about 200 MHz superior to that of the i7-2630QM, and this applies to both the base and Turbo Boost settings.

More specifically, the upcoming product works at 2.2 GHz but can go as high as 3.1 GHz, should the application require it.

Also, the SKU will possess a TDP (thermal design power) of 45 watts (probably), though most of the full specs are still a mystery at present.

All that CPU World was able to find out for certain is that the L2 cache memory is of 6 MB and that the G2 socket will be tasked with housing and powering it.

This information came to the attention of the user base through specifications of upcoming notebooks from Dell, ASUS and Fujitsu.

Thus, the accuracy is not guaranteed, although if delays do occur, they aren't likely to be overly lengthy.
