Digia was proud to announce earlier today, February 24, the immediate availability for download of the first point release of the Qt Creator 3.3 software for all supported operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X. This is only a maintenance release, but users are urged to update to it as soon as possible.

The new Qt Creator 3.3.1 release brings a number of fixes that were reported by users from the previous version of the software. Among these, we can notice platform specific fixes for Mac OS X, Android, and Windows RT, as well as fixes for the Git version control support, C++ and CMake fixes, as well as code pasting and editing fixes.

According to the changelog, a crash that occurred when highlighting files has been fixed in the editing part of the Qt Creator 3.3 software, the highlighting function for CMake files has been repaired and include completion fixed for CMake projects. Moreover, developers will now be able to paste their code to pastebin.ca thanks to a fix in the code pasting component of the application.

The C++ support part of Qt Creator received several fixes

The C++ support part of Qt Creator received several fixes, including for comment continuation, the infinite loop issue with parsing of files, a crash that occurred when no kits were available, a crash that occurred when the #if nesting was deeper than 512 levels, the Convert to Pointer refactoring action, which now works with auto variables, as well as those triggering refactoring actions of the context menu, which worked only if the text cursor was set.

Moreover, an issue with reverting of chunks in the Git diff viewer when diff.mnemonicprefix was set has been fixed, and check out will no longer be requested on ClearCase if the file has already been checked out. Last but not least, developers who work on the Mac OS X operating system will now be able to drop files from the Finder onto the main window of the Qt Creator application.

Two issues have been fixed on Android

Two issues have been fixed on Android, one that allows developers to debug apps that link multiple modules, and another one related to a crash that occurred when auto-detected kits were removed. Furthermore, custom files can now be installed into the package root in Windows RT, and the debugger should no longer crash. You can download Qt Creator 3.3.1 for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X right now via Softpedia.
