The first Alpha build is now available for download

Digia has released Qt 5.2, the first release of the cross-platform application framework for desktop and embedded development which fully supports iOS and Android.

“A lot of work has gone into supporting these two platforms, and now make Qt a great solution for development of mobile applications,” according to its deverlopers.

Digia admits that WebKit has yet to be supported, but “all essential modules are supported in both Android and iOS.” Qt 5.2 adds support for a couple of new add-on modules.

Qt Bluetooth is now supported on Linux with Bluez 4.x and Blackberry, Qt NFC is supported on Blackberry, Qt Positioning works on all platforms using NMEA data,(and GeoClue on Linux), Qt Mac Extras Integrate with native code (Cocoa) on Mac OS X, the same goes for Windows, and Qt Android Extras integrate natively with Google’s Android.
