Qbo Robots Flirt, Makes Us Wonder What the World Is Coming To

Robotics is an area of science that is constantly being worked on, but it is inevitable that things will take a turn for the weird once in a while.

The Qbo robots, made by TheCorpora, are supposedly simulating self-awareness.

The demo of this capability involved letting a Qbo look at itself in the mirror.

It was able to recognize itself (and say so) and later also succeeded in recognizing another one of its kind.

Nose flashes were used: Qbo randomly flashes light out of its nose, so when it 'sees' flashes that don't coincide with the ones it makes itself, it knows it is looking at a different Qbo instead of its reflection.

Alas, TheCorpora, for some reason or other, chose to program the Qbo to commence a flirting routine once two of them met.

Check out the video above to see with your own eyes the wonders of robotic flirting.
