Coming to offer something new for the consumer electronics market, QNAP has issued a press release in which it presents the NMP-1000P, an electronic capable of playing Full HD videos and equipped with a large storage capacity.

Though the web has been more abundant in news of new PCs and hardware components lately, the rest of the IT market's segments are very much alive.

The field of multimedia-centric devices, for instance, has just seen the arrival of a new Full HD media player from QNAP, the so-called NMP-1000P.

This machine has a 3.5-inch hard disk drive on the inside, whose capacity is of up to 2TB, which means that the machine will be able to store a fair amount of movies.

The configuration also includes 512 MB of DDR2 memory, as well as the full range of connectivity and I/O options.

For one, the media player features HDMI v1.3a, component (Y, Pb, Pr), composite video, analog stereo out, and S/PDIF optical connectors.

There are also a pair of eSATA ports, as well as two USB connectors and an Ethernet port, so that videos may be streamed even from the network.

"NMP-1000P is the culmination of QNAP's extensive experience in developing network appliances and software applications which can satisfy the consumers' need to get the content they want from virtually any source, and play it with the best video and audio quality on the living room TV using a single networked device," said Jason Hsu, Product Manager of QNAP Systems, Inc.

Finally, the newcomer is cooled by a fan with a diameter of 40mm and can communicate via wired or wireless 802.11b/g/n, though the necessary wireless USB adapters are sold separately.

Unfortunately, though the media player is supposed to be already shipping, it was not given a price tag in the official press release that its maker provided.
