QNAP has released a new firmware version 3.8.3 that brings a bunch of fixes for a huge number of compatible network-attached storage devices. The available files can be downloaded from either EU or US mirrors.

The new package updates Minsk’s timezone to GMT +03:00, improves stability for the RTRR Real-time Mode when uploading a large number of files, and enhances compatibility with Citrix Xen Server while using CHAP authentication.

In addition, the AFP connection gets the PDF and ChronoSync visibility issue and color label issue fixed, the TS-509Pro and TS-809Pro have Wake-On-LAN (WOL) problem resolved, and the CPU temperature is now displayed correctly.

Moreover, deleting a new user account via CSV returns no errors, and Amazon S3 backup is possible even if the filename contains “or.”

Last but not least, the “Autorun.sh” has enhanced compatibility with ARM-based NASes, and the "Relaunch upsd" problem is now fixed.

QNAP highlights that if this version (or a future version) is installed on the TS-112, TS-212, or TS-412 devices, the firmware cannot be downgraded afterwards.

The compatible devices totals a number of over 70 network-attached storages that consist of X86-based and ARM-based NASes.
