PyQt, a set of Python bindings for Nokia's Qt application framework that runs on all platforms supported by Qt including Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X, is now at version 5.1.

PyQt 5.1 is the second maintenance release in the 5.x branch and it includes full support for integrating Python with QML and Quick2.

Highlights of PyQt 5.1:

• Full support for Qt 5.1 has been implemented; • The QtSensors module and the QtSerialPort module have been added; • A (nearly) complete set of OpenGL v2.0 and OpenGL ES/2 bindings have been included; • Cross-compilation is now supported

More details about PyQt, its capabilities and its various uses can be found on the official website.

PyQt 5.1 is available on all platforms under a variety of licenses including the GNU GPL (v2 and v3) and a commercial license. Unlike Qt, PyQt 5.1 is not available under the LGPL license.
