PyQt, a set of Python bindings for Nokia's Qt application framework that runs on all platforms supported by Qt including Linux, Windows, and MacOS/X, is now at version 5.0.

The developers have finally brought Qt v5.0 into the fold with the new PyQt 5.0. This release doesn't sport too many changes, but it's very important nonetheless.

Highlights of PyQt 5.0:

• Python v3, v2.7 or v2.6 are now supported; • The module structure now reflects the library structure of Qt v5; • The parts of the Qt v5 API that have been marked as deprecated or obsolete are not supported by PyQt.

More details about PyQt, its capabilities and its various uses can be found on the official website.

PyQt v5.0 is available on all platforms under a variety of licenses including the GNU GPL (v2 and v3) and a commercial license. Unlike Qt, PyQt v5.0 is not available under the LGPL.
