PyQt, a set of Python bindings for Nokia's Qt application framework that runs on all platforms supported by Qt including Linux, Windows, and MacOS/X, is now at version 5.0.1.

PyQt 5.0.1 is the first maintenance release in the 5.x branch and it includes full support for integrating Python with QML and Quick2. Highlights of PyQt 5.0.1:

• The QtQuick module has been added and now it features the ability to create Python Quick items from QML; • The QtMultimediaWidgets module has been added; • The remaining OpenGL classes has been added to the QtGui module; • A lot of QtMultimedia, QML and QtQuick related examples have been added.

PyQt 5.0 is available on all platforms under a variety of licenses including the GNU GPL (v2 and v3) and a commercial license. Unlike Qt, PyQt 5.0.1 is not available under the LGPL.
