The second Beta release of the upcoming PyGObject 3.8 library has been announced on March 4, bringing various internal optimizations, as well as lots of bug fixes.

For example, many memory leaks have been fixed in PyGObject 3.8 Beta 2, making it much stable than the previous versions. Moreover, the GValue.get/set_value function has been optimized by settings GValue.g_type to a local.

Tests are now executed with G_SLICE=debug_blocks, compilation support on Visual C++ has been fixed, Widget.window, scroll_to_mark and window methods have been added to pygtkcompat, and original GTK/GDK functions are no longer clobbered with overrides.

PyGObject 3.8 Beta 2 is part of the upcoming GNOME 3.8 Beta 2 desktop environment, which should be released until the end of the week. More details can be found in the official raw changelog.
